The Power of Intention, Music, and Healing
What is intentional healing? Dean Radin, PhD, and Psychokenesis researcher, defines it as “the act of holding a benevolent desire for another human being to achieve or sustain a state of health, or more generally, a state in which life is enhanced” (2004). But does this actually work?
We think it does.
In a 2004 study, Radin and colleagues exposed human brain-cell cultures (astrocytes) to sessions of “intentional healing” (meditative/mental intention) inside a shielded laboratory, and compared their growth and behavior to control cultures. They reported measurable differences between the intention-treated and control groups.
In a 2008 double-blind study using cancer patients and their partners, Radin and colleagues measured skin-conductance (a marker of autonomic nervous system arousal) in “receivers” while “senders” directed caring intention toward them from a separate, shielded room. The study found statistically significant effects on the receivers during intention periods.
A 2015 study by Chris A. Roe, PhD, et. al showed that distant healing intentions are proven to have a positive impact on well-being when coming from friends, family, or their own religious groups.
Most profundly, a 2004 study by Katherine Creathe and Gary E Schwartz measured the effects of music and healing intention on seeds that were exposed to musical sound, pink noise, healing energy, and a control group.
“Musical sound had a highly statistically significant effect on the number of seeds
sprouted compared to the untreated control over all five experiments for the main
condition and over time…there was no significant difference between seeds
exposed to noise and an untreated control. Healing energy also had a significant
effect compared to an untreated control…with a magnitude of effect comparable
to that of musical sound.”
What does this mean for the work we do here at Moonlit Melodies? Not only are we using music, but we are also using healing intention. These are just a few of the countless studies that have been done to add evidence to the power of intention.
When you put intention behind something, you are exponentially more likely to achieve it than if you are doubting your abilities. Here at Moonlit Melodies, we know we have power.
Let’s have a chat and discuss what your intentions are, and how we can help you achieve them.
