Vibrations and the Universe: Our Spiritual Philosophy

Have you ever been listening to a song with a strong bass and felt the vibration in your chest?  Have you ever gotten chills from hearing a song that moves you emotionally?  Have you ever gotten a song stuck in your head, and your brain keeps repeating the same little bit of the melody over and over?

Heart. Skin. Brain. We are conduits of music.

Without any particular skill or experience, we are executors of sensation, masters of movement, and creators of change within our own bodies.  You are already being molded by music without even thinking about it.

Music is all around us because sound is vibration, and all atoms are vibrating at different frequencies.  Matter actually responds to sound waves; if you look at cymatics as evidence of this, it is very clear how elemental substances, such as sand, liquid, fire, and electricity, respond to different frequencies. Credit goes to Nigel Stanford for the following video example:

Cymatics reminds us that music doesn’t just move through us, it shapes us.  This concept explains why we have those sensations mentioned above.

In music therapy, we work with vibrations to alter the human body, mind, and spirit.

We can use music to help you regulate your breathing and slow your heart rate.

We can use chant to reinforce concepts that alter your thought patterns.

We can use rhythm to reset your nervous system and help you find your ground in the present moment.

We can select songs that evoke certain emotions and take you from one emotion to another.

We can sing or hum to create vibrations that mimic “internal cymatics” and reduce stress hormones.

We can write songs or make beats that express our emotions in ways that words simply fall short.

Our philosophy at Moonlit Melodies is that we are all made of vibrations, us, and the world around us.  When we engage with music consciously, we are participating in the same creative force that shapes the universe.  We are co-creators of our internal and external world.

Send us a message to find out more about how to mold your inner and outer world through the use of music.
